My Review:
I will admit that the only reason I read this book was because of the fact that I like to read the book version before seeing the movie version. But I had wished I had come across this books ages ago because it is so good with all the different themes in it. One of my favourite concepts with this book is the different points of view that changes all the time in the book, it gives a great perspective of the whole story from all different characters. From this, you get a better understanding of what is happening this book from the outside to the inside of the problem that arises in the book. I have seen the movie and I have to say it was awesome, it followed along with the book story line amazingly and I love the actors on how they portrayed the characters most perfectly.
This book is amazing that has the right amount of action and sci-fi as well as romance that keeps you on your toes all the way throughout the book. The character, Cassie is such an inspirational character that is real in way that you could actually see her as a normal person not just a character. The situations that she is put through in the book she has real reactions compared to many books that I have read or even movies where normal people are put into real situations and they don’t react complete true to how someone would react to. For example being shot is something that can happen in real life and in books and movies the character generally react like it didn’t hurt so much and continue with whatever they are doing. Whereas in the 5th Wave Cassie’s reactions were real and genuine from saddest to pain. I love the difference characters point of view especially Evan’s point of view on how he sees the world and what is happen to him also the other characters reactions to the plot of the story. Evan is a character that I admire in a male character, someone is courageous, kind, caring, mysterious but also, someone who isn’t afraid of their feelings and isn’t scared to show them. I also love Ben, he has to overcome a lot in this book and from this, he has become a man, not still being the high school jock who didn’t have a care in the world. He becomes a friend, a supporter, a fighter but most of a protector for the people that he cares about.
This is book is very mysterious on understanding who and what characters that you can trust and who you can’t. There are a lot of twists and turns as well as a lot of things that you don’t expect to happen. The concept of the book is amazing on how in depth the storyline goes and the history of these aliens. This book is set in a normal day in life until life gets turn upside and that is when the characters natural instincts come in handy as all these characters are going to be put into life or death situation where they don’t know who to trust anymore. This a very different book than what I have read before and that is what makes it so interesting. From this I am expanding my interest in books and different genres so it can appeal to everyone and their tastes in books. I believe that this book is the start of my expansion is the world of different styles of books.
